Viber for PC and Viber for Mac are two highly looked after features. Viber team has not yet released the Viber app for any of these two platforms. People who want to use Viber for PC or Viber for Mac are out of luck yet. However, as the old adage goes "necessity is the mother of invention" the people of Internet have hacked a method to let you download Viber for PC and this method can be extended to Download Viber for Mac OSX. We will give details of how to download Viber for PC and then you can apply the same methods to download Viber for Mac if you are an Apple fanboi.

Viber for PC: Step by step tutorial

In order to download Viber for PC you need to download an Android emulator on your PC first. This emulator will install a virtual runtime on your PC that can run Android based application. After that, since Viber for Android is already in the market, you can simply install Viber for Android on this android emulator. Then, when you run your emulator, it can run Viber for android inside it. This will let you effectively have Viber for PC without actually buying anything special.

Viber for android does not cost anything, therefore this hack will work for free. However, you need to have Java installed on your machine to download Viber for PC.
In short, follow the below steps to download and install Viber for PC:
  1. Install Java on your PC (if not already installed)
  2. Download Android emulator for PC from Android website
  3. Install the emulator
  4. Load the emulator
  5. Download Viber for android on your Emulator
  6. Run Viber for Android as if it is Viber for PC

Since you learnt how to download Viber app on your windows PC, you can use the same method to install Viber for Mac. In order to do this, you need to make a small change in step 2. Instead of downloading Android emulator for PC, you can download Android emulator for Mac.

Rest of the steps are same and will work flawlessly. You will have android for Mac on your OSX platform in no time.     I didnt get viber msg nor viber calls for access code. and got error msg "an error has occurred during the viber activation process".
    Ny solution for dis?

    The SMS deliver of Viber for PC might not work as expected. You can, however, try call back method again to activate your Viber app downloaded on PC. BTW, are you using Viber for PC or Viber for Mac?

    That is a good observation. Literally speaking, Mac is a PC but the word PC has lost its literal meaning and now it refers to window based personal computers only.

    I am using window 7 pc. Until step 5 is fine. On step 6 , when I install viber at android emulator I got the error message APPLICATION IS NOT SUCCESSFULLY INSTALL. I try to install viber going though viber website, whe I click on Android I got the error message as " you have no permission to log in Marker ....."Help me please

    Installed the emulator and Viber succesfully..The problem is when using it the first time, it requires activation and one should enter an active mobile number..entered mine and received an activation code through my mobile..activated it and wahlahh..still didn't work.. :-(

    Installed viber via an android emulator on mac....got the activations done...the messaging is working perfectly...but there seems to be a problem with the call....i can initiate the call..but then something seems to be blocking the call and it disconnects. ..any solution for this?

    So, I downloaded the Android SDK and I showed me a list of packages to be installed. I hope this is correct since I did not read about it anywhere... =/ Well, they are installed, but now where do I get Viber for PC?

      the video is really clear, you must install ANDROID MARKET. After you click this application you can see VIBER o search for it.

    If a search in market for Viber I got: 1692 results for "viber". But I can scroll only for 5 of them. (AND VIBER ISN'T LISTED).

    I follow the steps, and i manage to open the "Viber" window, and have a "Android" icon flashing in it. From there nothing happens. I try to push buttons, reopen anything, but still nothing. I run it on a windows 7 laptop.

    Please help me.
