Moreover, India is included in this list too which means you can make unlimited VoIP calls to India for just $10 a month.
Our experience with them was worth mentioning. For your information, our credit card was declined the first time but then the second time it went through and the order was approved. This is unequivocally the best VoIP solution, however their website does not provide enough information about how to make VoIP calls after you register. We had a hard time finding that information. We are going to share this information so keep reading.

Setting it up
We were not able to make calls instantly on registering, neither through their website nor through our iPhone. In order to start making international VoIP calls you need to register you phone number as authorized caller ids. To do this you need to login at their website CalltoPBX.com using your login credentials and add your number to authorized call ids. Once you login, you will see the option that says authorized caller ids. Click on it and add the phone number you use to call. This should not be an issue but we could get our account (online) working only after this step. If you register and get error such as "Not Found" or "Busy or rejected" please add your number as we said. This might not be necessary but it worked for us and thus we ask you to follow this method.Check out the video tutorial below for more information on this error.
Quality and Fair Use
Since we could get it working we can comment on voice quality. The voice quality is not as good as you would expect but it is pretty decent. They have not published how many minutes you actually get due to their Fair Use policy but people suspect it to be 2500 minutes.You can also subscribe for a 0800 toll free number for additional $1 per month which is good for small businesses.

ReplyDeleteDo you mean the buttons at the screen where you need to pay? If that is the case it is an issue with USA registrations. There are two workaround to this issue:
1) Register using some other country for example UK will work.
2) On the final screen where you enter your credit card details please look carefully to see top of two buttons visible and click on the second one. Alternatively, you can also press key twice and then click enter.

GMT 5.30am callto pbx always down. last two days i faced this issue. today tillnow this issue not solved from web, mobile its not registering. Service is good but this is the problem most times its not connecting to the server.

There is a feature called 'Connect two'. You can enter your number, and the destination number, and it rings both the phones and connects them. You can see this feature on the top right after you log in.

@anony 3:If the error is credential failed that means your username or password is not correctly entered.
@anony 4: For local access numbers to work you will have to buy another plan too. With $10 simple call you can not make use of local access numbers. There is slight confusion in our video tutorial on that. Sorry for the inconvenience.

"Offline - Registration failed. Stop trying."

I created an account successfully using my credit card with US number ( and country set as US ) and logged in. Also, I was able to make a call to India once. When I tried to call India again using the softphone on their website after sometime by logging back in, I keep getting "Offline - Registration failed. Stop trying."
Call button isn't active on the softphone!
I also tried using XLITE but same result ! ( "Registration error: 408 - Request Timeout )
Any kind of help is appreciated.

ReplyDeleteTheir website do not mention anything about 2500 minutes. It is based on our estimate which comes from their terms below:
"Your use of any and all of the Services is subject to fair and reasonable use. The Company considers fair use of the Service to be, for each paid Service plan, one hundred fifty-percent (150%) of average monthly customer usage for all such plan customers."
As far as calling other countries are considered you are free to call any country as long as you stay within the allotted minutes. Thank you.

ReplyDeleteThe balance will always show 0, that is fine because you need that balance to call any country not included in this plan. Countries supported by this plan do not need you to have any balance.
Their service was inactive from around 12:30 AM EST
to 3:00 AM EST. Other than that it worked just fine.

ReplyDeleteThe account balance is your credit to call countries other than those listed as free destinations. Therefore, do not worry about it.
Yes, that is a problem with their system that you can not know how many minutes you have used.
There should not be anything special to set up sip on your phone. We haven't tried it on Nokia N95 but it should be similar to the settings for VoIP phone posted above. Please see if you can make calls using wifi. May be calls over 3g are not supported by your carrier.

All others are 0.00 for both balance and cost both.

ReplyDeleteThey only let you sign up using a credit card. We have heard of people who cancelled and got their charges back. In any case you can always dispute the transaction with your bank and you will get your money back.
Sometimes the transaction will not go through the first time. Please try again and it shall work.
As far as we know AT&T can not deduct your minute if you use this service over internet. We use this service over wifi and never ran into such issues.

ReplyDeleteEven in our case we were able to make calls even after a month was over. We did not opt for auto recharge. No charges were levied on our bank account. Therefore, you should be good.
The SOAP error is weird as no one has reported this kind of error. May we suggest you to try using a different browser? That might help otherwise you can try contacting their customer care. They might be able to help you.
CalltoPBX definitely works from iPhone. You need to make sure that you type the number in correct format. Such as for India +91xxxxxxxxxx format. To type + you need to press and hold 0 key on your typepad.

But, few days ago, it stopped working, so I just chose the recharge option on their website and recharged for 9.99. But now I am changed to Prepaid plan. I cant find an option to get the simple call plan. I wrote to them but no reply. Was wondering if you have any idea.

ReplyDeleteTheir service is not the best available in the market, but you will find it worth more than the money you spent after a month.
The issue with recharge is that recharging with $9.99 doesn't automatically enroll you in simple call plan. You need to do the same exercise you did initially to get that plan.
If customer service people asked you to recharge with $9.99 you might want to forward them their email and ask the reason for decreasing balance.

ReplyDeleteYesterday, I signed up for the calltopbx.com simple plan. Like others mentioned, I also did not get their welcome mail with activation details and settings. However, I configured my Nokia E52 using default VOIP software. I was able to make some calls but the issue is very poor call quality and i need to call atleast 4 times to hear the other person talk....I am using the following settings:
sip.calltopbx.com
Port: 5060
Tried both protocols UDP & Automatic
Also tried connecting to the stun server...
Then also tried using their softphone and pc based dialer....All with same result.....is there any work around.....to get acceptable quality.....I can barely hear the other person at the other end...I'm calling from Bahrain to India....

ReplyDeleteWe are sorry to hear that you are not happy with Call2PBX. The issue with quality could be due to slow internet connection. The call quality of calltopbx is not at par with the best in the industry but it is good enough to make calls. Please try making a call from some other internet connection to see if you get a better speed. The another thing to look for is to make sure that you do not have any bandwidth intensive application running on your computer when you use Call2PBX. Hope this will help you.

Recharge issue has been fixed now. If your account needs to be recharged, you can recharge now. If you open a ticket for Calltopbx support, they resolve the issues pretty quick.

Thanks.. I guess it was some problem with my IE. I had to finally do it through my mobile. Now the issue is post I login and I click on call its not getting connected. Its saying connection failed due to which I am not able to dial in at all. I even downloaded the flash version for pc but the same issue. I am able to login but the web dialer is still showing offline and it says failed to connect. Can u plz help. And has anyone tried it from Singapore if it works or not.

ReplyDeleteI have been using calltopbx since one month and it was working fine most of the time having some call drop issue, after I recharged it with $9.99 and I could able to call only for some 350 minutes later I its balance went to $0.00 and I can not call anymore, I have not used 2000 minutes after July 15th, Can anybody let me know having this issue? and I even mailed the support team I never get back from them, or is there any other similar plan which I can use and I should be able to call using 3G with out loosing my monthly limited minutes.Please advice...

ReplyDeleteWe are sorry to hear that instead of recharging your simple plan that sum of $9.99 went into your recharge account. It was used as a normal prepaid account. To auto recharge simple plan you should choose that option during startup, or alternatively you can ask the customer care to help you out before paying for it. Some of our users had success with it. Please try to contact the customer service again and ask them to convert your account to simple plan or at least to convert it to a simple plan account when you recharge next time. Sorry once again.

Well, I used it as simple call during I sign up 2 month back and they never reply and can you please contact and let them know sharp859 account has problem so they may listen you, I even called their customer care did not work out well. I am happy if they can give my $9.99 and transfer to simple call and allow me to call.Please help

Yesterday we have run auto-recharge service. It will help our customers to automatically recharge and allow us to continue providing call packs services for them.
Auto-recharge service works like that:
If you have sufficient money prepaided on your account then we will automatically take it one time a month and give you free minutes for next month.
Please remember that in the next billing day if you won't have sufficient amount for call plan you use prepaided on your account and we won't be able to take money for that and give you free minutes for next month your account will be deactivated.
This service sends you notifications about planned auto-recharge two days before your next billing day.
For example if you use simpleCall plan and you have 20$ prepaided on your account and you started using our service on 19 July then we will send you notification about planned auto-recharge on 17 August and on 19 July we will take automatically 9.99$ from your prepaided amount and run simpleCall with free minutes for next month.
You don't have to worry every month about remember when is your billing day.
However yesterday, when we run this service, it deactivated all accounts with 0.00$ prepaided. It is fixed now and all this accounts are active again.
Please take our apologies for that matter.
We do work to make using our services comfortably for our customers.

However, you are free to make calls from your PC or laptop. All you have to do is to visit their website and login using your username and password. ReplyDeleteThe local access numbers are not for simple call plan. You can not use the local numbers as well as connect two feature.
Regarding the authorized called ids question, please tell us if you are able to make calls. As that is what matters. In our case after we added that it started working. It might just be a chance or a bug in their system. However, if you are able to make calls you do not have to worry about that.

I want to talk through E52 Nokia mobile. I have 3.5g internet (Data Package) connection in my mobile provided by Etisalat (UAE). The symbian nokia software provided in the website is not helping. Always Registration fails. I am using correct User ID and Password. It very well works with windows pc communicator. Which software will work in the above condition for my E52 Nokia?

Ya I too faced the same problem in iphone 3g and 4 as well,lossing contacts... I have registered on Aug 9th....but i havent recharged till now.. luckily still i can make calls...donno the reason..

Now while reading reviews on calltopbx $10 offeer, i took the plan ando since last 2 days i cud make only 3 calls, some time sytem is not working, some time dialer say destination not found, some time it is not available.
I feel i have taken a wrong decision by taking this plan,could you please help in resolving the matter as it is of no use if i cant use theservices, i understand call quality may not be good as others but at least it shld be able to connect and making calls.

Sorry that this things will be listed but it will make it more clearly ;)
1. We had 2 days when there was a problem with Busy or Rejected message but we fixed it. All customers who let us know about it has them account fixed asap. We are sorry for that.
2. Please remember that you need to dial numbers without '00' or '+' at the beginning.
It should be like that: country code, then area code(for landlines only) and phone number.
3. When it comes to information about authorized called ID then this is NOT needed to be setted up.
4. Please go with all problems to us on Live chat or support@calltopbx.com
Some issues need to be checked out individually.
5. After end of one month you may recharge your account for 10$ and use it for next month. You may do it in 'recharge' bookmark.
If after recharge your balance won't show 0.00 please let us know.
6. In the nearest future we will have new iPhone dialler version.
7. Also there will be available some plan for Agents that want to have some profits in 'resale' our services.

The voip is just fine for calling, but i noticed that my contact list was getting deleted every now and then. Got my iphone replaced thinking that it was the problem with the phone. but later on i realized that the contact list was getting deleted every time the calltopbx iphone app crashed. it was quite strange, but true. Now i have deleted the calltopbx app and using the same account on Fring.
But would definitely like to know if other users have come across same issue or is it just me.
And kindly suggest the work around, if any.

Yes... iPhone contact deletion is certainly an issue... I suggest u download idrivelite from AppStore... It backs up and restores ur contacts easily.. However I wish calltopbx comes out with updated version soon and rectify this problem...

ReplyDeleteI am trying to use Elastix (asterisk) to connect to calltopbx but it is not working and gives me no obvious error (stops after sip "trying" message from calltopbx). it is working fine from sip client like x-lite. I tried above config for asterisk but no success. any comment/help would be useful.
i recharged my account on 14th and it was showing a balance of 9.98 and some figues, now it shows a balance of -0.0023 and also have getting connected quite a lot of times. kindly let me know the solution.

ReplyDelete@Anony 1: To make call to India from anywhere in the world you need to either use their dialer on their website or you can download the application on your phone. There is no way to use simple call plan to make a call using phone.
@Anony 2: To switch from prepaid to simple call plan just email them at support@calltopbx.com or use the form at their website. As they commented on our website you can now convert your prepaid credit towards the simple call plan.

hi, I am getting "Cisco SPA2102 VoIP Phone Adapter with Router". Is there any location wherein I can get the steps to setup calltopbx on the adapter? What are the settings that I need to make on the VOIP adapter?

pavan, did you change anything in "your profile" section? I had entered data in the 'called id' section and got "call not found" mssgs. Reverted it back to blank and no issues.
