What is HeyWire
HeyWire is a social networking tool that lets you stay in touch with your IM buddies and also through text messaging. You an use HeyWire for text messaging, Chatting, tweeting and IMs. You can send the same message over Facebook as well as over Text (SMS). Heywire offers:
- A real phone number as your texting identity. People can reply or send messages to this number
- Use your contacts on your phone
- Push and sound notifications so that you know when you get a message
- Send a text to a group of up to 10 people
- Send a text to anyone in 146 countries and HeyWire users anywhere in the world
- Supports all major languages, including character based ones plus emoticons when messaging other HeyWire users
- Ability to text and chat using the Mobile data network or Wifi

Free SMS APP and App for Andropid is not yet ready I guess as per the Viber site.

ReplyDeleteHeywire has restricted the number of countries being supported. They still support USA, Canada, Mexico, China and few other countries but for many of our readers Heywire is not promising anymore.

ReplyDeleteYou are right, with so many other applications for messaging HeyWire will never be used the way it was being used. We have had so many people asking us about ways to send free international texts. We will see if there is some trick that can be used.

Heywire is not really free. It just shifts the cost of sending a text message onto your friends. Whenever they reply to you, THEY pay the SMS charge via their service provider!

What I don't understand is why does HireWire not discuss, about fees or charges. Like how does Hirewire make their money? Or when you bring up the words "cost or charges", the question is either avoided, or not answered in correct detail. If there are "costs" just tell your clients.

A couple of my friends used heywire and the trouble is that they say it's free but in reality it is not. Because the receiver or the person that installed heywire and text to his friend. Well his friend gets hit a big lump sum of charges at the end of the month. Unrealiable app.
