Even if you talk 24/7 you still can not exhaust the minutes that Pennytel is offering 10 million free international phone call minutes again. Pennytel is an Australia based voip service provider who has been in news for their FREE 10 million minutes offer. They had this offer earlier too, but it is better this time with great call quality. The good thing is that you can use Pennytel with sip clients too thereby if you have a sip application on your phone you can call straight from your phone.

How to get this offer

This offer is exclusively for members of Pennytel. If you are not a member you can join Pennytel for free and make use of this special offer. To get this offer visit their offer page for free 10 million phone minutes. You need to provide your email address to get a email on how to use this offer. The email will list your account information such as user name and password and you can then use that to make free calls. This offer is valid till January 8th, 2011.

How to make Free Phone calls

Pennytel supports SIP phones. Therefore, if you want to use a sip client such as fring, siphone or others you can use following information:

Proxy : sip.pennytel.com
Domain : sip.pennytel.com
Register : Yes
Codec : g729, g723
Port : 5060
your username and password is in the email you received from them. You can also use following methods.
iPhone App: you can download the iPhone app from iTunes and use it to make free phone calls.
Softphone: Download Pennytel softphone by logging into your acocunt on pennytel website.
SmartDial: Smartdial lets you use your landline or mobile phone to use this. Please read more about smart dial before you use this service as this is not always free. 

What countries can be called

Pennytel supports a lot of countries and fortunately India is included too. You can use these 10 million minutes to make calls to: Australia, Canada, China, India, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Singapore, the UK and the USA. However, for Australia, New Zealand and UK calls to Mobile phones are not allowed under this promotion. We highly recommend this promotion and suggest you to hurry up and register as 10 million minutes are nothing when everyone starts calling in this festive season.     Hello,

    Im using O2 in Germany with Iphone and with plan Blue 100 for students. Its with unlimited internet but they asked me not to use skype calls. But if i use this plan over my iphone internet will they charge me??? Also, I registerd with this offer but till now I didnt get any email from them.. (almost 2 hours gone).. can u help me?

    it says offer expires on jan 8 2011. so after that the we cant talk free or we cannot register for free minutes?

    Dear Anony,
    This offer is valid for everyone; calls between pennytel subscribers are free too.
    Once you download the iPhone application you need to hit the settings button at the bottom and then sign in as a new user or use your exisitng account to log in. Once that is done you can dial using the dialpad without any issue. Please let us know if you need more help.

    I tried calling from softphone, itz displaying "Dialing 0091xxxxxxxxxx.." message for ever, I don't here any dial up ring sound. Any one is able to call india from USA? thanQ

    Please try registering with them first and then making use of this offer. If you do not have a Pennytel account associated with the email address you submitted for this offer, it might not work.

    It seems they have changed this offer a bit. After having a conversation with their customer service it seems they define existing customers as people with some balance in their accounts. If you do not recharge you can not use this offer.

    Thank you for your feedback. Even with the 91xxx format, the message still says insufficient balance if the user doesn't have any balance in his account. Are you able to make calls even when you do not have an account with balance in it?

    yes i can make calls without any problem.

    i use zoiper it takes about 30-40 secs to connect but then it works all fine.
    Usage 1-1.5 hr/day
