The good thing is that you can call both Mobiles and Land Line phones. The offer will be available till January 15 or IndiaLD might shorten or extend the duration. If you think you will use it go for it. Another thing is that all US customers are subject to a tax of 11.9%, but you can ask your friends from India to register for you using their email ids and account details. You can register two different phones to make calls from. Also you need to call a California number to make calls so you would want to make sure that it is included for free in your plan.
You can call from India to US for the same price.
ReplyDeleteI cahtted with their live support and the guy gave me a Bangalore,India access number.
People in India can call this access number (local charges apply) and call any of the 22 country's numbers listed. :)
I have had very poor experience with India LD and would recommend all of you not to use their services.
ReplyDeleteFirst & foremost they mention that call to India from US can be made at 1 cent per min & on their web site(http://www.indiald.com/) that no other hidden charges are charged. For 500 mins, the amount mentioned in home page is $4.95.
But when i made the payment, i found that i was charged $5.79 instead of $4.95 for 500 mins.
Later they provided a US number which i had to dial to make the call to India.
But when i used that i found that i was charged by my service provider in US (T Mobile) in addition to the amount being deducted in my India LD account. The amount deducted by T Mobile was more than $1 for making a 2 min call to India.
So all of you do not get fooled by1 cent per minute claim made by India LD.
When i called up customer care of India LD they mentioned that the access number provided by them to make calls are business numbers & not toll free numbers. Hence it is obvious that i am getting charged additionally by my local service provider.
Dear Sindhu K,
DeleteWe are really sorry to hear that. It is unacceptable that IndiaLD gave you numbers that are business numbers and you had to pay $1 for 2 minute call. The charge of $5.79 includes a recovery fee which we believe was not there earlier but we might be wrong.
However, if you have to pay for the access number that is outrageous. What we can do for you is that we can talk to Chris, who owns IndiaLD, and have him take a look at your case. We had one issue with IndiaLD where a reader was falsely charged and Chris took care of that. Please email us your account details at question[at]freecallshub[dot]com and we will help you get a free to call access number or we will have them refund your full money.
