Skype makes the Group Video call feature a premium service - pay per month costs to make group calls

No more FREE Skype calls
If you have been an avid Skype user you must have enjoyed FREE Group Video Calls using Skype. We talked at length about this in a recent post. Today is a bad day for all of us who used Skype as a prominent medium to stay in touch with our loved ones. Skype does not offer FREE Video calling for its latest Group Calling offering. We have confirmed this news that Skype will no longer offer FREE Video calls among more than two people.

Skype Launches Premium Packages

With the launch of Premium Packages, Skype has shed the Beta label from its Group Video call offering and now they will charge you if you want to do a video conference using Skype. The not so bad part is that you will have access to Live customer support. We wish Skype had kept this free but as long as they offer FREE Video calls at least between two people we do not have much of a concern.

How much will it cost

You can buy a day pass for $4.99/€3.49/£2.99* or a monthly subscription for $8.99/€5.99/£4.99† per month. If you sign up during the first month you will get 33% off for 3 month and 12 month packages.
