Viber international calls from your iDevices over 3G and WiFi internet connection

Viber International CallsViber International Calls are the future of VoIP industry. Voip service providers are embracing mobile voip, also called mvoip, to proliferate their voip solutions among users. The advantage of mobile voip is that their consumers can use their voip services without the need of any gadget other than their phone which they anyways carry with them. Vopium's FREE international text messaging offer is a classic example of this. Today, we introduce Viber which is an iPhone application that lets you make absolutely FREE international phone calls including free phone calls to india, China, Bangladesh and anywhere in the world where you can connect to the Internet using your iPhone.

What is Viber

Viber is a mobile Voip application that lets you make free international phone calls to your friends worldwide when they download Viber on their phone. You do not even need to use your phone minutes to make free international calls. Only thing required is that your party should have Viber installed on their phones. Right now Viber is only available for iPhone but applications for other platforms such as Blackberry and Android are in the works. You can use Viber on both 3G and wi-fi. If you are not connected to internet you can make calls using your Cell phone service provider's network but that will be similar to making a normal phone call.

  3. Dear Cedric,

Viber is a mvoip solution that allows you to make free calls at good quality between two Viber users. If you can have your mom install Viber than you can make free calls to her.

  5. Hey does is take ur phone credit

  6. Dear Anony,

Viber does not use your Phone Credit. You make calls over wifi and your phone service provider is not involved.

  7. I live in uk if I was to make a phone call from new York back to uk to my husband who had viber also and wasn't connected to wifi would this show on my next phone bill??

  8. Also if you have to b connected to wifi I don't see the benefit as you can FaceTime on iPhone for free over wifi or skype - where is the benefit?!

    ReplyDelete
  9. Dear Anony,

If your husband has Viber installed then the call will be absolutely free. However, if you are not connected to Internet then the calls will be placed using your cell phone carrier and it will appear on your next bill.

Viber is an application that tells you when your contacts are online using Viber this way you can be sure that your calls will reach them. Facetime does not give you this opportunity. Moreover, Facetime is only good for iPhone4. Skype, as you mentioned, is a better alternative to Viber.

  10. I am in Singapore and my son is in the United Staes. Both of us has Viber installed on our iphones. How come Viber on my phone cannot detect his number as a user in my contact list?

    ReplyDelete
  11. Dear Anony,
This is a known bug but not yet solved. The only workaround that we know of is to add a contact who has Viber. For instance if you add your Son's number again it will refresh your list and show your Son's correct current status. Hope this helps.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Dear Anony,

You can only call other Viber users from Viber app. You can however use Google Voice to call others on their phone from your home phone. Read details at http://www.freecallshub.com/2011/12/google-voice-is-free-for-one-more-year.html.

  16. My friend lives in France and I in the US. Both he and I have Viber installed on our phones.
I have wifi at home as well as work. Otherwise, I have 3G everywhere else. What will happen if I try to call him when I am on 3G?

Will I be charged on my next phone bill?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Dear Anony,

If you call your friend using 3G your cell phone service provider might charge you for data plan. There will be no other charge on your bill.

  18. Dear @Anony,

Please ask your daughter what number has she registered Viber with. The country code should not be a problem. You should also try saving her number without the initial +1 and then go to settings and refresh your contacts to see if Viber recognizes her number now.

    Dear Chandni,

Can you tell us exactly what is the problem? How are you trying to connect with her?

    Thank you.

  19. I have another question. What if I am somewhere and my phone isn't on 3G, all it says is "E"?.

Can he still call me even without either of us being charged?

For further info, I have an unlimited data plan with at&t

    ReplyDelete
  20. Yes, no matter how you make or receive a call, you can only be charged for data usage (in case of "E" it is Edge) and nothing else. The quality of "E" will be not as good as 3G or wifi though.
