How to use Whistlephone as a Sip Client for your iPhone

We recently talked about Whistle Phone as an option to make and receive Free Phone calls to/from USA from your iPhone, iPad, Mac or even Windows PC. Moreover, one of our killer posts talked about how to use Whistle Phone to turn your iPod touch into an iPhone. Whistle Phone as a SIP client If that was not enough we are going to add one more feature to this neat application for your iPhone. You can use Whistle phone as a limited feature SIP client.

It does not have advanced options such as wideband, STUN support, multiple SIP accounts, display name, etc. However, you can rely on it for your basic needs of a SIP client.

Steps to set Whistle Phone as a SIP client

To set it up as a SIP client you need to go to Settings and select Whistle. You will see the options to add your Account and Proxy settings. Just replace the current values for Account with your User Name and the Proxy Values for the proxy server address (e.g. sip.yupeephone.com) of your SIP provider.

Once you are done with it launch the Whistle Phone application. It will prompt you to enter your password. Once you enter your password, you can use Whistle Phone as the SIP client that you can even use to make cheap international phone calls using your SIP subscription.
